Happy Thursday all. I’m preparing for the Easter holiday, in addition to working and taking care of needy animals. Not complaining, just a day in the life.
I started looking into the next in line to Jesus’ genealogy and it didn’t surprise me that I couldn’t match a wife/mother to the following men: Pérez son of Judah and Tamar, Hezron son of Pérez, Ram, son of Hezron , Amminadab son of Ram, Nahshon son of Amminadab.
Women first of all were subservient so unless they were truly a standout it’s unlikely anyone wrote about them. Were they unimportant? Absolutely not! We all know these men were backed by either powerful wives or mothers at the least. As I read through these names I cant say that any really stood out to me. I don’t recall a Sermon, Bible study or Sunday School class about any particular one. So I decided while looking for a wife or mother to see who they were.
I couldn’t find much until I came to Amminadab the son of Ram aka Aram. Amminadab was the father of Nahshon who was the Chief of the Tribe of Judah. They all played a role during the time of the Exodus. His daughter Elisheva was the wife of Aaron. Nashron was the interesting one. He is noted to be the one who walked into the Red Sea until it parted. “He walked out up to his nose and the sea parted.” According to Hebrew literature. The story of the parting of the Red Sea can be found in Exodus 14.
All of these individuals played their own role in history and fulfilling Gods prophecy. I’m sure the women in their lives helped mold them into the men they became. As I traced my genealogy most of what I found was also regarding the men, but I know the women were strong individuals.
We will continue the next Bible study with a women we’ve all heard of. The actress Elana Eden played her in 1960 in the movie titled in this historic figures name.
Mother’s Day is soon approaching. Let all the women in your life know what they’ve done for you. There’s been times on my birthday that I’ve sent my Mom flowers or a card. Thanking her for giving me life and always having my back.
God also can’t be seen but he’s always working in our lives. Pray that you are thankful for all he’s done for you. He’s also given you life and loves you unconditionally.
Father I pray for women and men who do things everyday as an unsung hero. People who love and give unconditionally as you have loved us. I pray Lord that I can continue to be your servant and like a shepherd leading them to you. Thank you Lord for the blessings you have given me. Amen.
